Hello, I'm Kiesha Jean :)
Thanks so much for visiting my site.

I live on top of a mountain in Asheville, NC. It keeps me filled with gratitude and inspiration. I love capturing the art in nature through photography, especially the overlooked art like 'Rust Gone Right'. I'm known to take the long way around so I can have the opportunity to capture the unseen.

I work from home as a Photographer and Graphic Designer. During the fall I work on a family run Apple Orchard in Minnesota, which is the most fun ever!

Be sure to check out my Etsy shop! I hope to enhance your space with inspiring images. The works that are available for purchase in the store are very carefully chosen.

"Studies since the 1970s suggest the subtle power of natural scenery to heal both body and mind. Texas A&M researcher Roger Ulrich, for instance, has shown that people who watch a calming nature video after a stressful experience have markedly lower muscle tension, pulse, and skin conductance activity after less than five minutes. This translates into significant medical benefits.

Ulrich also monitored patients after gallbladder surgery and found that those assigned to a room looking out on trees needed far fewer painkillers than patients in rooms that faced a brick wall.

Heart surgery patients in rooms with nature scenes on the wall experienced less anxiety and smoother recoveries than patients with blank walls or abstract art.

Likewise, cosmonauts confined for months in outer space quickly lose interest in video programs and other diversions. They prefer to stare out the window at the untouchable Earth."

Frequently Asked Question's

Q.

Where are you located?

A.

My photography business is based out of Asheville, NC.

Q.

What's an Organic Outdoor Photographer?

A.

I have no idea. I totally made it up to best try and describe my photography. I adopted the term organic because 99% of the time I use only natural light (no flash, no big lights or light bouncers etc.). When you hire me, it's you me and my camera. I love the outdoors and prefer to take pictures there.
The only exception to this rule is for some product photography.

Q.

What's your favorite thing to photograph?

A.

1. Farms 2. People having fun on adventures & vacation.
note: if the above are the subjects you want to hire me for ... will work for food ... well, not really, but any offer you make I'll probably say yes to. Get good karma don't be stingy.

Q.

Who's your preferred printer of choice?

A.

Whenever I need quality prints I go only to Mpix!

Q.

How Much?

A.

It depends. Make me an offer and if you are outside of the Asheville area include traveling expenses. [I prefer to stay in cabins, but a hotel or spare room is fine too!]

suggested day rate $300 - $500

If you have products that you want photos of you can mail them to me and I'll mail them back. Shoot me a quick email [info@kieshajean.com] with a short product description and # of products and I'll send you a quote.
note: The more you trust me and give me creative freedom on the style in which they are shot, the more I will love you.

Q.

How can I purchase your photos as prints?

A.

Visit my Etsy store at www.KieshaJean.Etsy.com to buy large wall prints.

As far as framed pieces go , I'm a picky artist. I pick out custom frames and mattes for each individual photo, this is an extremely time consuming neurotic process. So, unless you are fortunate enough to catch me here in the mountains at a local art show or on display at Minnetonka Orchards during the harvest in the fall you're probably SOL.
THAT IS UNLESS you have your own gallery and want to feature my work ... in that case email me! info@kieshajean.com
