What’s an unfair tax? In my eyes no American should have to pay more then 20% of their income towards taxes. I don’t care if you make $30billion a year and I only make $15k a year, I don’t think you should have to pay more then 20%.
Transitioning into the world of a self employed entrepreneur has left me with a severe disgust for our government. I just finished reading “Self-Employed Tax Solutions” by June Walker. It was a fantastic book, where the author does a superb job deciphering tax code for independents especially creative independents. I was feeling prepared and good about doing my taxes. I love the US and I’m all for paying my fair share of taxes hoping that they eventually support some form of good or usefulness. With that being said, when I got to the last chapter in the book and learned that I should set aside 40% of my income for taxes and that’s if I’m in the low bracket … once I’m wildly successful move over 60 – 70% aside for FUCKING TAXES. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Who in their right mind ever thought that it’s fair to tax someone 70% of what they have earned. Shit move over mafia and pimps i’m a Uncle Sam’s bitch. I’m completely dumbfounded that our protesting, free speech, assembling Americans stand for such an outrage. In light of my new found enlightment I understand the recent “Tea Parties” in the news. I also understand that even though I love Obama I now totally get Republicans and their gripes about taxes, although I think everything else they believe is as far fetched as Scientology.
If tax law is written with corporations and big business in mind and with a bias to not trust the self employed why would our nation especially at this time support that? It wasn’t my self employed ass that collapsed the world economy. The tax laws need to be re-written, they need to be fair and they need to be in plain English. Oh, yeah and while were at it, since every American has to pay taxes why is it not taught in the schools. Why do I have to buy a plethora of books and pay a professional to teach me how to do this thing every American has to do for the rest of their life. Since most kids start working in high school then it only makes since that tax law should be taught in high school. Maybe we don’t because young people are more ferociously aware of when they are being fucked and less likely to stand for it. Really, can you imagine the debates among your peers at the age of 17 if you were told then if you try and make an honest living and go into business for yourself 40 – 70% of what you earn will go towards taxes. AND on top of that you will pay taxes on just about everything you buy! Move over Greenpeace let the Tea Parties Rage ON! How can a country that was founded partially out of disgust for taxes have turned into a tax beast.
So, in the spirit of contributing way more then my fair share let me take the liberty to re-write the tax law.
20% of what you make after expenses is paid to taxes
15% to federal 5% to state
If every American is taxed then their should be no need to tax every item on top of it, so no more sales tax.
