Dan … Kayla … Me (Kiesha Jean) ! Yes, I’ve decided to grow younger
I’ll leave the details out on this post, the proof is in the pictures! One of the best New Year’s I’ve ever had. I learned on this night that I like champagne a lot! I’ve also decided at 29 I’m happier then I’ve ever been and very much prefer partying like a teenager again!!! It’s never too late to act a fool
Life is short, party and be happy tonight! … and DANCE!
word of caution — if you drink too much bubbly champagne too quickly it is very likely that you will puke. No I did not hurl on New Year’s … last weekend though … oopsy. First time in YEARS that I’ve hurled cause of drinking. I wasn’t even trying to get really drunk I just really like the taste of Champagne, goes down like a yummy soda. Oh yeah and don’t drive or anything cause drunk driving is not cool. I had a designated driver on New Year’s and I was safe at house last weekend. When I do go out I’m almost always the designated driver because crashes and DUI’s are not anything I’m trying to add to my life experiences.
… And do so with some enthusiasm!
What new curve balls might you have this morning?!
Well let’s say hypothetically when I signed my lease two months ago I didn’t actually look at it. Say that lease was a month to month and I thought it was for a year AND now the landlord has decided to put the house back up on the market. No real worries it’s a shitty market. BUT, it’s a shared house and the downstairs 1500sq ft is currently being rented separately … or was.
Now just for giggles let’s say the landlord has not found anyone for the downstairs for November. Let’s say that same landlord hypothetically sent me this email this morning:
Need to do something by the 1st. Any other thoughts or ideas? If can’t rent separately, may have to consider renting to one family, but don’t want to because of you
So, hypothetically could I be moving in 10 days … that’s some funny shit right?! … So, SWING BATTER BATTER BATTER SWING!
What would I be swinging at … well as much as I love the place I’m in. I would really love my own cabin 800sq ft or larger with a covered front porch and a view of some farm or ranch land in Fairview!

My enthusiasm knows no discrimination. Some traits have not changed since I was 5yrs old and I am EXTREMELY proud of that!

I worked at a motorcycle festival a few months back here in Asheville. Little did I know at the time that the group I was working with were about to become great friends. Miss Kayla in particular has become a truly dear friend here in Asheville who’s incredibly fun and has been there for me A TON during this particularly eventful time in my life! Cesar, Miguel and Mike were our “bosses” for the 4 days … they all live in Los Angeles and travel to motorcycle festivals around the country. To say they are all talented and acclaimed would be the understatement of the century, go ahead click on there names … you’ll see.
Check out Miguel in action below … *note ahead of time if you are religious and easily offended you should not press play. If you can laugh, if you want a great laugh you should press play.
They recently swooped in for a 12hr visit in the middle of an 18 hour drive to their next festival. There was dinner, music, singing, dancing, truly amazing conversation, laughter, a conga line?!, the birth of a “church“, espresso at midnight, a large amount of wine and a hot tub til sunrise. So, YES the best dinner / slumber party ever! well, except we all had to wake up early the next day … so that part sucked … wouldn’t trade it for the world though!
I have really found it rare in life to meet great friends or people. However, these past 7 months I have had the honor of meeting and getting to know a whole lot of amazing, thoughtful, kind and insanely talented people (including these 4!). Great friends and people have a way of bringing joy, love and exciting energy into your life.
Happy Friday morning! I can’t even help but smile when I watch this … ESPECIALLY … ‘pump pump it up a little more’! Let your weekend start early, may you be inspired to be silly and dance around the office today! More so may you be inspired to go let loose and have some much deserved fun this weekend! If you’re at home no worries, you should totally dance there and entertain your friends and family!
… and yes, chances are you’re way cool and have already seen this … maybe more then once. It’s ok you should watch it and smile AGAIN
(December 10, 1965 – September 29, 2010) was an American stand-up comedian, television personality, insult comic and former lawyer.
This is too sad. Greg Giraldo has been one of my favorite comedians since I was first introduced to him via Tough Crowd with Collin Quinn in 2004. A freakin hilarious show that was cancelled way to soon. I remember the first time I saw the show and him on it because my reaction was “who is this person, he’s a fuckin genious, why have I never heard of him before, what else does he do, when is he on next?!”. I loved the whole show but looked forward to Greg G.
See, I’m not really a … how you say … laugher. Unless someone falls and then I roll uncontrollably. I smile, grin … that sort of thing … but not so much laugh. There are few comedians that have ever honestly made me crack up and laugh out loud … so few, and they make such a strong impression on me that here goes … George Carlin (started at age 11for me), Greg Giraldo (I was 23), Dane Cook stand-up (that car door joke a few years ago), Kat Williams stand-up (the motorcycle story, almost doesn’t count cause it’s about a fall last year) and Tucker Max (who is brilliantly just wrong ). I’m incredibly thankful and grateful for the few who can make me laugh.
The Huffington Post has put up a great collection of his videos here Celebrate his life by watching and brightening up your day with some humor … cause we all need it!
But if you ever come across the Tough Crowd with Collin Quinn (his pre-divorce) stuff … it’s really great.
so, in closing I’ll write a little note to myself that most likely applies to you as well:
… live your fucking life, live honestly and live a good one cause you’ve just got this one and you are not guaranteed tomorrow. No excuses, no it’s to hard, to painful, to difficult … get off your ass and go live the life you want. No procrastinating or delaying the inevitable … follow your heart and go before it’s too late.
and I think Jason Sweeney is kinda amazing! He’s the illustrator and his about page makes me smile!
