Just launched Kiesha Jean’s Short Blog!

Why on earth do I need two blogs? How does the short blog differ for Reme?

Well, I come across cool shit all the time, most of which I either want to remember or share. However, this stuff that I come across isn’t necessarily important enough for me to dedicate a whole blog post or god forbid an email to friends about. I’ve found going back through text tweets to find something can be far to time consuming. Besides, my attention span only last about 140 characters so I end up deep in tweet land forgetting what the hell it was I was looking for to begin with. THE SOLUTION = a simple clean powerful external blog where I can keep track of it all. (yes, this is probably a direct result of mild OCD)

The short blog is powered by Posterous which is a sexy little beast of an application. I just email the post to posterous and it automatically goes up all nice and formatted an pertie, there’s also a share button on my bookmarks toolbar so as I’m browsing a site I don’t even have to leave the site to post what I’m viewing to posterous. Eventually I plan to feed Kiesha Jean’s short blog into a Reme page but at the moment I’m seriously far behind on finishing the back post on Reme. It takes far longer then I imagined to put my memories and photos back in order from all my cross country craziness, if only I was using twitter to keep track of things back then.

Oh Boy, Grown-Up Purchase

I never thought I’d get so much joy out of the purchase of a brand spankin new FRONT LOADING washer & Dryer. I did laundry for 36 hours and enjoyed it way to much. There is no more stupid aggregator in the middle trying to rip my clothes to shreads. There is even a HAND WASH setting on the washer … yep that’s right it can wash everything and it’s so delicate that it can pretend that it’s my own hands, that’s enough to make me shed a tear. There are so many LED lights that at night it looks like a spaceship has now landed in our laundry room. Since our previous washer only worked on 1 setting, it’s a little overwhelming having something like 60 possible wash combinations. It feels a little bit like ordering take-out … hmm… today I would like Cold-cold, medium spin, delicate, extra rinse, light soil, stain clean with a delayed start … lol… the delayed start even has 20 time options.

technical information – Frigidaire – Affinity series
side note, these are on the low end of the front loaders however the detergent pull out feels more sturdy and better crafted then the top high end washers. I thought I was going to break some of them in the store just by opening them. The only other set I liked besides ours, was a high end Samsung … the rest did not seem built to last.

I love Gmail and after many years of voiced and silent prayer they finally gave me the one thing our relationship has been missing ….. FOLDERS. Yes that’s right the big ‘F’ word, say it again slowly with me …. F O L D E R S. For all fellow long time google & gmail advocates, I know you feel me on this one!

I can now actually sort through my inbox of a few thousand emails from several different mail accounts and file them appropriately. Who knows, give me a month and for the first time ever my Gmail inbox might actually be empty. Oh, just saying those words makes me breather easier … the stress of always having an uber-full inbox even after reading and labeling everything like a good girl will soon go away.
The OCD angel on my shoulder is about to shed a tear.
