I showed you a picture of me laying on this print as I was getting ready to move. I thought I show you what it looks like up on a wall cause I think it’s AWESOME! I had the opportunity to put it up in the November Cabin while making a slideshow on how to apply wall prints. I’ll post the slideshow tomorrow.

I’ve been a pretty straight iced mocha drinker for years until my Epic November. I was introduced to the delicious Vanilla Latte by the sweetest outdoor Southern Belle miss Mary Valentine who used to be a barista in college. The only problem was when I went to recreat it with those coffee mate type deals I was shocked at how shitty the ingredients are. Why in the hell would I need partially hydrogenated oils in my espresso. So, the mission began … all natural organic Vanilla Latte. There was some testing involved to get the measurements right and match the yummy flavor of the coffee mate but I did it!
Before we get to the decadent ingredients that you may feel obliged to lighten I’ll point out a little fact. If you are eating all natural and organic foods and live a slightly active lifestyle you won’t need to worry so much about weight and calories. I’ve recently stepped up the active a little and cut out most restaurant food and gone from a size 8 to a size 4. I don’t go to the gym, run, bike, count calories or weigh my food. I’m lucky if I do yoga once a week, I do dance around the house almost nightly for about an hour and I highly recommend it! :)
Ingredients
1/2 cup – Organic Cream on Top Whole Milk in a glass bottle
1/4 teaspoon – ORGANIC VANILLA … this is important, don’t get imitation vanilla or regular vanilla they have corn syrup in them. You’re looking for straight vanilla with the only other ingredient is organic alcohol.
1 teaspoon – Organic Sugar
2 Tablespoons – Organic Half and Half
2 shots – Organic Espresso I have recently taken a break from Moak and been drinking Larry’s Beans, they are GOOD!
How to Mix
If you have an espresso machine that can froth your milk go for it! If not put it on the stove on medium high heat for a few minutes.
In your coffee cup mix the Half and Half, Sugar and Vanilla. Pull your 2 shots and add to the cup and mix well so the sugar is all dissolved. Pour in you hot milk, sip, smile and enjoy lifes all natural pleasures. Be sure to make this amazing treat during the holidays with friends and family.
This concert was PHENOMENAL! New Politics opened for Thirty Seconds to Mars at the Fillmore in Charlotte on the start of my Epic November! If you have the chance to see either band live, you should definitely GO!
There was so much fun energy from the crowd and the band, every night should be such a brilliant celebration of life. Jared Leto has some amazing crowd hype skills and at one point in the show was holding the prosthetic leg of an amputee … see the pictures below for details. I was wicked sore from moving all day but that didn’t stop me from jumping almost non stop for over an hour, that kinda music, that kinda crowd you just have too!
As promised earlier in the month here are the photos of Jared Leto AND Shannon Leto!

Here’s a very tasty treat for your Thanksgiving and shopping hangover! This season I’m thankful for AWESOME roommates and music … and roommates who love awesome music!
Keep calm and thankful this season forgo family, friends and above all shopping and leave some time for yourself. Relax and listen to some good music – some old stuff that you love and explore new stuff.
Memories are priceless, forget about giving so much ‘stuff’ this holiday season. Plan experiences with friends and family that will make memories that may last a lifetime. Go together to see live music, snowboard, ski or rent a fun cabin in the Smoky’s with a fireplace! The store sales, gift wrap and material things pale in comparison to having fun with the ones you love. Make an extra effort to be giving with your love and kindness and GO get your winter play on!
I highly recommend you get yourself some ‘Morphine’, especially ‘I Know You part I‘ & ‘I Know You Part II‘. I’ve recently fallen in love with just about anything ‘Fink‘ as well.
I wish Toro Y Moi would do more Tegan and Sarah remixes, it’s a BEAUTIFUL combination! It’s like a little music dream with perfect balance … by the way I LOVE IT!
I’d classify most of his stuff as dramatic ambient with Alligator being one of the faster tempos. I get a little impatient listening to it. It’s pretty but kind of like slow dub step … you just know that shit would be sooo sick speed up notch.
I dig on this video too but I think it’s more for the color grading and nostalgia then music purposes. 4th of July in Charlotte a few years back I was highly entertained shooting some bottle rockets into the lake
Last year at this time I fell in love with three boys from over seas who instantly rocked my world … and no that’s not them above it was White Lies. White Lies opened up for Kings of Leon at the Target Center in Minneapolis in the middle of that oh so interesting carbon monoxide week I had. I still get messages from the younger orchard staff that when they hear Kings of Leon they think of me AWESOME! Whenever we were slow and every night that we closed up White Lies and Kings of Leon rocked the shit out of the farm! The concert rocked my world so hard (especially the WL drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown) that I protested the next day at the farm that I would very much like to be a Rockstar. Although I play no instruments I felt very well suited for the career. Half dead that’s the only clear thought I have from that week, some people see a bright light I see music.
This November my life looks 1000% different then last year with one tiny little similarity I fell in love with three more boys from over seas. Yes, them above that’s David, Poul and Sören of New Politics out of Denmark and they’re fuckin’ AWESOME!
You have never seen someone put out so much energy on stage as David, I’d be willing to put cash on that bet … he’s absolutely nuts on stage and it’s fantastic! On the photography side pretty much impossible for me to get a still picture of. The only time his ass was still was when he was in some freeze and I could see his foot perfectly still above the crowd of heads in front of me. To see someone feel it and dance so hard with no inhibition in front of a very inhibited Charlotte crowd who had no idea who they even were was inspiring and fun!
I went with two friends who were exhausted after 3 days of MOOG Fest and a concert the night before that. Then, me wiped from 3 days of packing and moving … I was literally running suitcases into the cabin I’m staying at so I could meet them in time to get on the road to the concert! There was a team effort to rally enough energy to make it to that concert and when we got there we didn’t even want to see the opening act.
When New Politics came on we all looked at each other shocked at how good they were and kinda sad that we didn’t have the energy to even bounce to the beat. The performance was so diverse too, song to song I had no idea what they were going to do. Seriously one of the craziest new mixes I’ve heard. When we were trying to compare who or what they were like we came up with some heavy Rage Against the Machine & a bit of Cure coming from David, some epic 30 Seconds to Mars / KOL type sounds and vocals coming from Sören and SICK beats from hip hop to rock out coming from Poul.
Since I couldn’t get a single shot where they were all in focus on stage I made my way over to the merch table to get a shot of the three of them. That alone was something interesting to see as girls just flocked to hug David’s extremely sweaty self. While waiting for all 3 of them to be free at the same moment took a while so I had some time to talk them individually. Now, if I had talked to them first and then seen them perform it might have been to much … my head might have popped off. Why, cause holy shit they’re nice … like super sweet humble nice and to talk to them you would never in a million years think that they do what they do and how they do it on stage.
I have this issue where even if I love the art but then don’t like the artist I end up not caring or wanting to see the art. This however also works in reverse if I like the art and then love the artist it makes me care 10 fold about the art. So, New Politics concert & music fantastic, liked a lot, had fun … then I met them and now I fuckin love New Politics and can’t wait to see more and help show you more of them. Below is one of my favorites off there album Love is a Drug.
Read their bio here >> BIO << you’ll love them too!
They’re on tour through early December in the US from west to east coast so GO see them before they’re back over seas!
I watched and fell in love with 1 Giant Leap 9 years ago. It has now reappeared and been mentioned more collectively in the last month then all the years combined! What makes that extra special is the fact that 99.9% of you have probably never even heard of it let alone seen it, especially if you’re based in the US. If you’re cool enough to live in the UK then it’s a different story
Below is one of my favorite songs off the soundtrack.
1 Giant Leap is a concept band and media project consisting of the two principal artists, Jamie Catto (Faithless founding member) and Duncan Bridgeman.
Based in the UK, the two musicians set out to create a multimedia project that would encompass a CD, DVD and cinematic presentation that would offer a complete artistic statement. The project offers music, digital video footage shot over the course of six months by Catto and Bridgeman, images, rhythms and spoken word content.
The band was signed to the Palm record label and its eponymous CD was released on 9 April 2002. It features contributions from Dennis Hopper, Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Stipe, Robbie Williams, Eddi Reader, Tom Robbins, Brian Eno, Baaba Maal, Speech, Asha Bhosle, Neneh Cherry, Anita Roddick,Michael Franti, Zap Mama, and other artists and authors. The band’s theme for the project is “Unity Through Diversity”. A Making Of was also shown on the Discovery channel, which featured some of the effort involved in finding and working with the musicians and other people involved in the project.
1 Giant Leap’s “My Culture” video for their first top ten single, featuring Robbie Williams and Maxi Jazz from Faithless received extensive airplay.
In 2004 they moved onto to a deal with Simon Fuller and 19 Entertainment to make a second film and album entitled What About Me? The concept was the same as their initial CD and DVD – traveling the world interviewing artists and sampling music – though the second time around their journey was longer (four years) and doubling the number of contributing artists from their debut release.
